Taupō airport is located 8km south of the town centre next to New Zealand's largest lake, Lake Taupō. Flights in and out of the airport are operated by Air New Zealand and Sounds Air. Air New Zealand operates flights daily from Auckland to Taupō return. Sounds Air operates flights daily from Taupō to Wellington return.
